Tell us a bit about who you are and what you do:
I consider myself to be ordinary, but I guess who defines ‘ordinary’? We all have a purpose and we have to define and own that purpose. I tend to not back down from adventures and experiences, but it’s a balance of doing what makes sense at the time and being responsible for the future. We have one shot at life, so I’ve decided to make the best of my time on earth.
You climbed Mt.Everest. tell us about that experience.
In 2011, I was in the middle of my goal to climb the highest peaks on the 7 continents. Everest (29,035’) is the highest peak in Asia, and of course, the world. I climbed independent from a guided group, but had Sherpa support. I ended up soloing the summit on May 15th, but shortly on the descent I went completely snowblind. Hand over hand I made my way down from the top of the earth, completely alone and blind. I truly felt a miracle up there in the death zone after I ran out of oxygen.
